Francis Gurney's Norwich commercial life and Lestrange agency, 1612–1636

Daniel Gurney recorded that Francis Gurney's "commercial life began at Norwich," and the Hunstanton Hall account book of Sir Hamon Lestrange shows Francis acting as "a sort of agent, or banker" for the Lestranges, with payments running from January 1612 to May 1636. Thoms independently noted the frequent mentions of Francis Gurney the merchant in Alice Lady Lestrange's Hunstanton accounts.
