Finding
Peter's King Philip's War service and 1676 death
Peter Gurney, John Gurney-1's youngest documented son, served as a soldier in Captain Isaac Johnson's company, surviving the Narragansett campaign's Great Swamp Fight of 19 December 1675, and was killed later in the war, in 1676.

Why this conclusion
- Depends on Finding Reconstructed family group: five children (Sarah, Mary, Richard, John Jr., Peter) + Isaac uncertain, all Mary'sPeter's identification rests on the family-group roster's identification of Peter as a son of John Gurney-1.
- Supported by Evidence Bodge: Peter Gurney, Capt. Isaac Johnson's company, Dedham muster 1675Bodge's muster and casualty-list entries are the primary record of Peter's service and survival of the Fort Fight.
