Current site: hamlet / fields extant; tombs no longer locatable - The hamlet of Cottentray is preserved within Avesnes-en-Bray as fields and woods east of Gournay-en-Bray. The 1682 tomb discovery field has no surviving marker. The medieval Gournay quarter-fief is no longer a distinct holding; the Potin family of the fifteenth century later succeeded to the share.

Hamlet in the modern commune of Avesnes-en-Bray, east of Gournay-en-Bray. Decorde 1861 records that until the fifteenth century the seigneury of Cottentray was held in parts and that one quarter-fief descended from the senior Gournay barons before Marie de Bourbon sold it to the Potin family. In 1682 labourers turned up eight to ten stone tombs in a Cottentray field known locally as the Clos des Anglais; no inscription survived.
